News just in from Apple is a new, free update for GarageBand for iOS including a new sound library with sound packs, new touch instruments (designed for using multi-touch gestures for plucking and bending strings for Asian instruments, a classic step sequencer for beats, and support for the new iPhone X.

1. GarageBand features a basic sequencer, a set of available instruments, an option of adding drum patterns and recording or mixing in audio tracks. So, you can drop a drum pattern to set the tempo and the style, then create (for example) bass, guitar, and synthesizer tracks, and then sing to this arrangement to have a song of your own.
2. Nov 02, 2017  GarageBand brings new Sound Library and classic Beat Sequencer. With GarageBand 2.3 for iOS, beat makers can tap into a new Beat Sequencer instrument inspired by classic drum machines. Apple is announcing a major update to GarageBand for iOS that provides even more creative options for making music on iPhone and iPad.

'With the GarageBand Sound Library users can now preview and download new Apple-designed sounds and instruments right within the app. These free, downloadable sound packs contain a variety of Touch Instruments, Apple loops, Live Loops templates, guitar and instrument presets and more. Users can access the Sound Library from multiple places within GarageBand and will receive alerts when new sound packs are available. Initial sound packs include Future Bass, Reggaeton, Beat Sequencer kits, guitar amp tones and more. New sound packs will be released periodically by Apple.

'Beat making gets even more exciting with the new Beat Sequencer. Users can choose drum sounds from a collection of classic and modern electronic drum kits in a variety of genres. The Beat Sequencer is inspired by the simple yet powerful workflow of classic drum machines, and users can quickly build and edit grooves using a step sequencer interface that provides individual control over multiple drum and percussion tracks. Users can choose from 12 Apple-designed drum kits, each with their own unique sound and 25 beat patterns.

'GarageBand users can also explore the sounds of Asia by accessing new Touch Instruments, including the traditional Japanese Koto and Taiko Drums, and Chinese Guzheng. Realistic and expressive performances can be easily created using Multi-Touch gestures for plucking and bending strings or playing different parts of each drum.
Three new drummers play percussion in Pop, Songwriter and Latin styles, each with their own signature percussion kit that includes instruments like bongos, cajon, woodblock and cowbell. The app also now includes three new acoustic kit drummers specializing in Rock and Alternative beats.'

Availability

GarageBand 2.3 for iOS is available today as a free download on the App Store. It is compatible with devices running iOS 11, including iPhone 5s and later, iPad mini 2 and later and iPod Touch 6th generation.

GarageBand for Mac 10.2 includes a variety of Apple Loops powered by Drummer. Quickly add beats to your project by dragging a Drummer loop from the Loop Browser into your project. Choose from variety of Drummer Loops for each virtual drummer character profile.

Find a Drummer loop

To open the Loop Browser, click in the upper-right corner of the GarageBand window.

Drummer Loops appear in the Loop Browser with a yellow icon . To show only Drummer Loops in the Loops Browser, select Drummer from the Loop Packs pop-up menu at the top of the Loops Browser. Preview a loop by clicking it in the Loop Browser.

Add a Drummer loop to your project

When you’ve found a Drummer Loop you like, drag it into an empty part of the Tracks area. GarageBand automatically creates a new Drummer track with a region of the Drummer Loop. All the settings in the Drummer Editor are configured to reproduce the sound of the Drummer loop.

You can now edit the track as you would any other Drummer track using the Drummer Editor. You can also create your own regions in the track, and edit them freely.

Add additional Drummer Loops

You can add additional Drummer Loops of the same type (Acoustic, Electronic, or Percussionist) to an existing Drummer track. Adding Drummer Loops from multiple Drummers to the same track may cause the loop to sound different from the preview.

If you want to add a Drummer Loop of a different type, dragging it to the tracks area creates a new Drummer track. A GarageBand project can have up to six Drummer tracks.

Each waveform behaves like a mutated waveform. The OBR circular movement allows you to change without limits of change. Voice Lock offers unlimited changes by locking sounds while browsing. 57 FX units combine perfectly and you can easily coordinate them.
